Fulham Palace Museum
Finish Varied finishes in different areas
Location Fulham, London
Fulham Palace has been completely refurbished over the past 2 years. It is a grade 1 listed building which is a lottery funded heritage project throughout the museum areas, the café and The Great Hall. In the museum areas, we supplied and installed 100m2 of new engineered oak flooring
There was existing Georgian pine floor boards intact in certain museum rooms, which we repaired with reclaimed boards to match. In the museum rooms, we sanded 60m2 and finished the floors with a coloured stain then oil. In the events room, we sanded 80m2 and finished the floors with Bona Traffic Lacquer.
The existing floor in the Great Hall is 80m2 of Quarter Sawn Oak. We sourced reclaimed oak from the same period to match and carried out a number of repairs. We also created a tread and riser where the client reopened a doorway. We then sanded the entire area and then finished the floor with clear Osmo Oil.
Since completion on the project, we have worked again with Fulham Palace and refurbished the flooring in their café. There is 100m2 of Georgian pine boards. Which again we repaired, sanded and finished to match their events room. Which is Bona Traffic Lacquer.
